How to Join

We strongly suggest contacting the Local Union at 319-363-0279 for complete information on joining the Carpenters Union Local 308.

Requirements are as follows:

• A letter on Company letterhead stating that you have been or will be hired as a journeyman carpenter. This letter must include:
• Name
• Social security number
• Address & phone
• You must be prepared to pay Initiation fees and dues payments in cash or money order only at time of application
• Verifiable experience of at least 8 years of commercial carpentry

Journeyman Carpenter Initiation Fees for NEW MEMBERS are: $300.00 plus 3 months dues.

Re-initiation Fees for EX-MEMBERS looking to rejoin are: $300 plus $50 fee and 3-6 months of dues.

Any Apprentices re-initiating after suspending out will have to pay one years dues as well as all initiation up front.
